TNG OMG

This. Show. Rocks.

How was I not a Trekkie before? I totally fit in with this crowd. I own headbands that I could easily put over my eyes. And I read people's emotions all the time. Plus, my forehead ALWAYS seems to look huge and wrinkled to me.

All of this pales in comparison to how much our washer and dryer seem to match the general decor of the bridge on the Enterprise. It's like it was destiny.

Guys, you have to come "onboard" (haha that was too easy) with this one and get into Star Trek: The Next Generation with me (apparently there are multiple generations with this whole series. But they have names like "The Original" and "Deep Space Nine"...all very reminiscent of the Power Rangers)

I'll leave you with a quote Ben gets giddy about.

"Engage"

Miss Us? We've been busy!

It's ok if you didn't (miss us). We understand that everyone is busy.

It's a busy month, and I am busy with my NEW JOBBBBBBBB! Ben is busy continuing his summer job working for a professor and reading tons and tons and tons of articles about diseases.

I won't give too many details about my new job but let's just say it involves working at an awesome arts and crafts store in the framing department yeaaaa!

Ben and I are getting geared up for Philippi and for a trip to NOVA for a wedding :) and a funeral :(

...but right now we are getting ready for a visit from my parents, and cleaning like crazy people.

uh, duh guys, yes we ARE listening to epic movie trailer music while we clean. Who doesn't do that?

also, Nerds are tasty.

And we listened to this today. Thoughts on whether it's better than her original?

My Grandma

What you all don't know is...that lady right there is a hula dancing champ; a lady who always offered you Klondike bars, who pinched your arms after you ate dinner to "feel your muscles", who always always looked put together and had her hair fixed just right, someone who told you stories about jellybeans and cornflakes, and someone who will be missed by everyone.

Love you always Grandma

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG

IT'S HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No guys, I'm not talking about Bastille Day.

IT'S HARRY POTTER DAYYYYYYYYY!!!!!

So pumped to see everyone in the movie!

Dumbledore!

Bellatrix!

Umbridge!

The Weasley Family (and Scabbers!)

Trelawney!

Hermione!

Other Hermione!

WOOHOO! Yea! Ginny!!!

And...of course...

Harry Potter!!! Dressed as a Muggle! With no scar!

(These pictures are real, attractive, good-looking people straight from the movies)

"...I took a wrong turn on the way to the bathroom and found myself in a beautifully proportioned room I had never seen before, containing a really rather magnificent collection of chamberpots. When I went back to investigate more closely, I discovered that the room had vanished. But I must keep an eye out for it. Possibly it is only accessible at five thirty in the morning. Or it may only appear at the quarter moon - or when the seeker has an exceptionally full bladder."

I'm still crying about this.  Our bedroom view only looks worse.

Suggestions? Solutions?

Is the Energizer Bunny a Distant Relative?

This is my wife. In case you didn't notice, she looks a little crazy in the above picture. This is quite normal. She also looks like this a lot:

And sometimes like this:

But she prefers to be like this:

I'm not sure why. All the Bell children seem to be quite energetic and active.

Except for Grant. Maybe just the Bell daughters?

No, probably safe to say all of them.

And now I know where they get this from.

I don't write all of this just in an attempt to embarrass my in-laws. I think it's awesome, and so do they. They're proud of their energy and fun-ness. It makes the family run smoother and binds them all together. It also gives me more opportunities to understand my wife. Because when I'm around a bunch of hyperactive Bells, I can apply these experiences and life lessons to living with my wife. For instance, last night we got back from grocery shopping around ten, and I had the "brilliant" idea to make cookies-and-cream milkshakes. We were already pooped from grocery shopping and our delicious dinner (chicken fajitas!), but I thought we could handle it.

I was wrong. Amanda went bonkers. The sugar hit her bloodstream and she was gone. Bouncing all over the place, trying to sniff my neck, being her hyper self. I couldn't figure out if I was sitting next to Amanda or Kathryn (interesting and true fact: when I first took Amanda to prom, her parents tried to send me off with her little sister, claiming she "shrunk in the wash"). The highlight of this night was after I finally got her calmed down and we were peacefully watching Jackson and Johannah squirm through their interviews on 19 Kids and Counting. She grumped to me "being calm is boring". Perhaps. But can't we be a little boring sometimes? There is always time to be crazy.

Preshy Presh

Yea, cutesy words are going to be frequent. Get over it. Or join in!

It's Friday, and thanks to Rebecca Black, you're probably singing a really catchy song in your head right now. Unfortunately I have been ALL day.

Ben and I cleaned some today, because we're newlywed and still think stuff like that is "fun" and "interesting". I will probably read this in 10 years and laugh my butt off about that.

More importantly...

Guys, we watched the first Harry Potter last night and it was so totes preshhhhhhhhh. I can't believe that

They went from these little babies

To these grownup people

...and it's all going to be over in LESS THAN A WEEK OMGOMGOMG.

Since the sports world is boring right now, and no one watches baseball, I have a lot of time to devote to getting pumped about this movie. Get ready for Potterwatch 2011!

We might need a different name. That one just doesn't have much punch. Suggestions?

Auto Mechanics are for Wusses

Hello! I hope you all are having a wonderful Thursday!

In other news, duh, who even uses auto mechanics anymore?

We are tougher than that, so of COURSE we're going to use this helpful and informational video to replace ours OURSELVES! (read: Ben is replacing them.)

Yes friends, we have car troubles with our (secretly formerly totaled) Ford Escort. I feel like I am going to have such a horrible warm and friendly relationship with this car.

Basically, I think my car wins this round, and that's probably due to the fact that my license place is: I LV DSNY.

Keep Calm and...

Yesterday was an interesting Independence Day. Ben and I got to see some of State College's fireworks...while sitting on the side of the road. Basically, it was a crazy day, but Ben was awesome enough to get us someplace where we could see some fireworks. Win.

In other news, I got this in the mail today:

Keep Calm and Have a Cupcake Journal (Diary, Notebook)

It's from my sister:

...which in itself is awesome because I'm not sure how many times in her life SHE'S been calm :)

Somehow though, she knew exactly what I needed to hear. Remaining calm and choosing to have a cupcake instead always make for a better day.

P.S. Travel on over to my Facebook to check out what I made yesterday!!!!!

HARRY POTTER!

So we totally folded getting tickets to the midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. State College only has a couple of movie theaters (not counting the dollar theater which we still need to check out). We went over to the closest one last Friday to buy tickets for it. Of course, they started selling them on June 17th and were already sold out (seriously?! I know it's Harry Potter, but if you're gonna do it that early, at least send out flyers or something to let me know).

Correction: they were sold out of the 2D showings. Amanda and I refuse to pay extra for 3D movies (I don't see the point, plus their dorky glasses don't fit over top of my dorky glasses, so I couldn't see it anyways). And the other theater was the same situation. Would Amanda miss seeing the final Harry Potter movie on opening night? I'm pretty sure her heart would completely shatter if she missed this spectacle (not to mention I would be in the dog house for all eternity).

But I recovered! We're going to the 12:02am showing in Altoona, the closest sign of civilization beyond State College. Okay, technically it's not the first showing, but the 12:01am showing was already sold out. Does a minute really matter? [Amanda: YES!] Well, whatever. And the best part is now I'm making Amanda make my costume. I already agreed to get dressed up, but I refuse to hunt out an ensemble. So luckily I won't look like this:

And will instead blend in with this:

Minus this:

Totes presh. 7/14/2011. Or 14/7/2011 as the Brits would say. It's going on like Donkey Kong. With his own patronus.

Launch Time!

Happy Independence Day Eve! Today is a pretty awesome day because Ben and I are starting a blog (hooray!). And you all know that really means that I'm starting a blog today and Ben will be guest posting occasionally.

Things that happened today:

-Ben and I went to a Methodist church today and actually really liked it. Church Shopping '11 has officially begun.
-Ben made kugel and grilling cheese and fabulous burgers with fixings. I watched Ocean's Twelve.
-We continued our marathon of Good Luck Charlie. Seriously, I think we are going to be just like that family one day. Mainly I'm hoping to be as awesome as the mom.

Yay for a new blog!

P.S. I can't leave without getting you all pumped for Independence Day.  So I'll leave you all with this:

Enjoy!
